Thunderpole 5/8 Wave | CB 26-30 MHz AM/FM/SSB Homebase Antenna
The 'Thunderpole 5/8 Wave Silver Rod' is a classic design of CB base station antenna that has been tried and tested for over 30 years. The simple aluminium construction is 5/8 wave length on 27 MHz, meaning the lowest angle of radiation and the highest gain, which gives superior performance over long distances.
The antenna uses a 'no ground plane' design allowing simple mounting in many situations.
It will perform well in most circumstances and won't be beaten on value for money, it is easy to see why it has been one of the best selling CB base antenna for many years.

I bought this as a quick deployable antenna on a tripod for the 10m band when out portable, and it didn't disappoint at all. Quick, well packed delivery, good quality construction and already marked up for 11mtr. It worked really well and I am now able to get on 10mtrs when I want. Thank you Thunderpole......

This is my second 5/8 wave antenna and I couldn't be more impressed with it, the only reason I needed a new one was due to me not checking the anchor fixtures during the high winds earlier this year,all in all its light weight but strong and due to the swr markings already indicated on the rod hardly any adjustments needed, 5 stars from me.

Ideal for ham band conversion. 31 March 2021 | Steve
This was purchased for modification to 20 - 10 metres with matching achieved with a remote auto tuner. The coil was removed and a direct connection made from the SO-239 socket to the rods. I liked that bolts were used for the coil cover and upper support. 4 stars due to the use of cold rivets for fixing the SO-239 socket. I replaced these with nut/bolts Also used extra self tap screws to secure the tube sections as some flexing noted using just the screw clamps. Finally, I know these are called silver rods but to make the aerial low profile I wrapped the whole aerial in black pvc tape so it was less visible in sunlight.
