On the 2nd November 2006 Citizens Band Radio was 25 years old. As many of you know Thunderpole has been around since the very start. First with the Thunderpole I antenna way back in 1982. Then the updated and much loved Thunderpole II a couple of years later, which many people still claim was one of the best CB antennas ever made. Then in 1986 came the Thunderpole III.
Since then there have been many others and with the legalisation of 1/2 and 5/8 Wave antennas in 1992 the Silver rod type antennas became very popular(and still are).
Since 1981 we have seen many different radios also, and some of you will remember such classics as the York JCB863, Harrier CBX, Midland 4001, Maxcom 30E (Maxon) and some naughtier radios like the Cobra 148 and HyGain V. In 1994 we also introduced the best selling CB antenna of all time - the THUNDERPOLE Orbitor. This is still very popular amongst lorry drivers, farmers and off-roaders.

There are still many many people on the airwaves, and more and more new users are starting up everyday. This has meant that the airwaves have always kept buzzing, even after a quarter of a century! With your help we can keep them buzzing for another 25 years!
